Mark Olson

  Mark plays in a tux with a Roseville Big Band blue bow tie. Mark played lead trombone at the Southern Police Institute Alumni Association's 2000 dance.

In addition to subbing with the Roseville Big Band, Mark plays trombone and euphonium with the South Washington County Community Band. Mark is also one of the organizers of the Red Rock Swing Band. He also plays fairly regularly in community theater musical productions with the Heritage Theater group from Maplewood, Lakeshore Players of White Bear Lake and occasionally other troupes as well.

Filling in for Keith Miner at the Children's Hospital Association Fifty-third Annual Ball, November 23, 2002, Mark emulated Keith's performances by not only playing the bass trombone parts but also scat-singing the trombone solo in "Lady is a Tramp."

Mark also has been the voice of Igor the Assistant when the band performed"Monster Mash."

As a student, Mark played in the College of St. Benedict/St. John's University Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble on bass trombone and euphonium respectively from 1975 through 1979.
