Toby and Stephanie smile for the camera at the beginning of winter. Toby and Stephanie enjoyed a break from their musical endeavors in 1999.

While studying metallurgical engineering at Michigan Technological University, Toby was a member of the MTU Jazz Lab Band for four years. He also played drum set in the pit band for MTU's productions of "A - My Name is Alice", "The Blue Psalms", and "Three Penny Opera". Prior to college, Toby played in the jazz band at Duluth East High School.

Toby also played percussion in the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra, was the drummer for the Keweenaw Swing Band, and accompanied the MTU Jazz Singers for a year.

While attending graduate school at the University of Utah, Toby kept involved in music by playing drums for the worship services at the St. Catherine of Siena Newman Center.

While living in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Toby played drums for the contemporary worship services of St. John's Catholic Church. He also played drum set and auxiliary percussion in the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra.
