Roseville Big Band with the Rosetones
Commemorative Air Force Spring Big Band Hangar Dance, June 7, 2014

Before the dance TC Swing gave free swing dance lessons. At 7:55, Stan Turner, KLBB radio host, introduced the dance and welcomed the dancers.

Set One - Part 1 (8:00-8:50):

At this point, while the band took a break, Stan Turner honored all veterans and active military personnel, and a CAF pilot ran up the B25 engines.

After the break, the Minnesota State Fire Service Memorial Pipe Band performed these selections with the Roseville Big Band:

BP1. The pipe band marched in to Jimmy Findlater (big band joins at the third section, letter C, which is halfway through the song)
BP2. Highland Cathedral (1 bar snare, 1 bar drone, 8 bars pipe solo (A1), then band joins (A2, B, A3, A4, B, A3, Coda)
BP3. Amazing Grace (form: solo bagpipe, all pipes, pipes and band), dedicated to all military personnel, past and present
BP4. Medley: Scotland the Brave (8 beat intro (3-beat roll, 1 beat rest, 3-beat roll, 1 beat rest); A(16)B(16)) / Johnnie Scobie (16 bars repeated) / Scotland the Brave (pipe band marched out to Scotland the Brave (no intro) and the big band finished the tune after the pipe band was out.)

900 people attended the dance, despite rainy weather. For the first time at a CAF dance, there were no requests and no songs cut from the original list due to lack of time!
