Melanie played baritone saxophone in a Roseville Big Band concert in Central Park. Melanie Kleiss played baritone sax.

The Roseville Big Band featured Melanie as a clarinet soloist on "Begin the Beguine", "Moonlight Serenade", and "Woodchopper's Ball" Hear excerpts from the Roseville Big Band's recording of Woodchopper's Ball on our July 20, 1993, concert in Ramsey County's Battle Creek Park. Melanie also played baritone sax with the Roseville Big Band on our July 4, 1993, concert in Roseville's Central Park.

A 1993 graduate of Roseville Area High School (RAHS), Melanie played clarinet in the RAHS Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra. She also played baritone sax in the RAHS Jazz I ensemble. As a graduating senior, Melanie was named the outstanding band student at RAHS.

Melanie's musical involvement also included co-hosting several of the public access television (CTV 15) broadcasts of RAHS concerts.

Melanie attended University of Minnesota, beginning as a clarinet performance major. She is now in law school, focusing on international environmental law.
