Amazing Grace

  Lynn Ista, bagpipe soloist. Bagpiper Lynn Ista played the first verse of "Amazing Grace" as a solo, then was joined by the Roseville Big Band for two more verses.

"Amazing Grace," featuring bagpipes with the Roseville Big Band, is a staple of the band's repertoire for combined pipes and drums with band. It is often included as part of the Commemorative Air Force segment featuring pipe and drums, with either Pipe Major Lynn Ista or Pipe Sergeant Dave MacKinnon playing the first verse as a bagpipe solo.

In the 20th century, the Minnesota Pipes and Drums performed "Amazing Grace" with the Roseville Big Band at Confederate Air Force dances on several occasions. The September 22, 2001, Bomber's Moon Ball once again featured "Amazing Grace", this time with solo piper Lynn Ista joining the band. The selection was a tribute to those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
