Role in Roseville Big Band: 

Mezzo-soprano soloist and lead vocal in the Rosetones; Karen also doubles on cabasa and other Latin percussion instruments.

Karen also performs with the International Medalist City of Lakes Sweet Adelines Chorus and sings lead in ICE!, a women's barbershop quartet that entered its first competition in 2003, winning the District 6 quartet contest. For two years, Karen sang lead in the quartet Fascination, who won third place in the regional competition twice. She also sang baritone in the quartet Masterpiece, former regional champions, and in StarStruck, who competed as a wildcard from Region 6 in the 2001 international competition in Portland.

You may also have heard Karen singing the national anthem at numerous Minneapolis Southwest High School hockey games during the 2000-2001 season, subbing in the Nostalgics vocal quartet with the Classic Big Band, singing with The David Andrew's Big Band, or performing with Jazz Etc., a septet led by Roseville Big Band trombonist Mike Bratlie.
